A good grasp of microeconomics is vital for managerial decision making, for designing and understanding public policy, and, more generally, for appreciating how a modern economy functions. IMB113 will introduce students to basic economic terminology and its application in business practice. Students learn concepts that explain the functioning of the economy, the motives of consumer and business behaviour as well as the causes and consequences of changes taking place on the market.

In this unit students will learn how to communicate effectively in the conduct of business activity. They learn to describe the communication process and the different types and conditions in which communication takes place. They will learn to appreciate cultural differences in both written and oral communication as well as in communication in culturally diverse teams.
